Exit-Writer is fast and easy to use. With only two primary screens and just four DISCHARGE STEPS, Exit-Writer makes it easy to discharge patients quickly with the right information. Exit-Writer's user-friendly interface lets you concentrate on your patients — not on learning software.

DISCHARGE STEPS

Simple on-screen directions enable new users to operate the software with only a few minutes of training.

Step #1 Select Instructions—The Instruction Screen

Choose from over 800 of the most commonly used Instruction Topics divided into categories for easy selection and use.

Diagnosis for illness and injury are differentiated for emergency medicine practice.

Treatment / Misc topics including use of medical devices, diets and health info topics.

Medication including side-effects, contra-indications, drug-drug and drug-food interactions.

Forms for procedural consents, school and work-release forms, etc.

Exit-Writer Instruction Topics are written in everyday language, many including illustrations, extending your treatment plan into the home and reducing unnecessary calls and return visits.

Most instruction topics print on one page so patients get the advice they need without being overwhelmed with too much information. All instructions provided can be modified and new topics can be added without limitation.

Step #2 Identify & Advise—The Patient Screen

Personalize each discharge instruction. Eliminate redundant entry by linking to your registration system.

Step #3 Create Rx

Rx-Writer™ is a powerful feature of Exit-Writer that lets you create legible and accurate prescriptions quickly. The most common "Dose" and "Sig" and "Disp Amts" are the default settings for each drug in Rx-Writer. You can edit and add to the drug data that is already provided. Printing a "File Copy" of the Rx is a great way to document what was prescribed.

Step #4 Print

It’s that easy! Exit-Writer is now ready to print your full set of Instructions and Prescription.

Prescription Forms
For security purposes, and in some states to meet legal requirements, Exit-Writer allows you to print prescriptions onto special security paper that cannot be duplicated on a scanner or photo-copy machine. Exit-Writer gives you the ability to print prescriptions to an entirely different printer, or a special tray on the same printer as the discharge instructions. We have partnered with Vic’s Printing to provide secure, tamper-resistant prescription forms, as required by law in many states.

Printing Instruction Documents
There are two ways to print instruction documents:

GENERIC—This printout looks like a set of pre-printed instructions and contains no personalized information for the current patient.

CUSTOMIZED—This printout personalizes each document set for the current Patient name and ID, Referral MDs and any Follow-up or Special Advice.
